Autumn/Winter Beauty Essentials

Hate to say it but summer is over! But that means clearing out your make-up and everyday wear bag and swapping some essentials

Exfoliate! Exfoliate! Exfoliate!

As soon as the heaters come on my skin gets so dry! So i like to scrub away that dry skin and exfoliate regularly (2-3 times a week) followed by a rich moisturiser. I use Frank Body coconut coffee scrub which smells delicious and is made from natural ingredients and also use Soap & Glory's flake, it smells so good and leaves my skin feeling silky smooth. For my face i use Murad Exfoliating Cleanser it's not too harsh and it gets all the dead skin off and leaves my face feelings smooth.

Switch up your moisturiser

I absolutely LOVE the Murad skincare, i have been using the Murad Essential C Day Moisture  all summer to keep my skin all one tone. However, for the winter, although i have oily skin, i need something a little more rich to keep certain areas hydrated and moisturised. I have been using Hydro-Dynamic Quenching Essence, it leaves my skin feeling refreshed and hydrated throughout the day.

Bring out your dark side

The only thing i love about winter is that i can finally wear dark shades. I love switching up my wardrobe and matching my nails and lips with it. My all time favourite lipstick for the winter has to be Mac Diva! I love this colour it really compliments the olive skin tone and doesn't leave your lips feeling dry. For my nails i use the Max Factor "Ruby Fruit" its the perfect colour and lasts around 3-4 days without chipping.

Supplements

According to health officials, everyone in the UK should take vitamin D supplements throughout the autumn and winter months, because we don’t get enough sunlight and it’s difficult to reach the recommended daily intake from food sources alone. Low vitamin D levels can lead to a number of health problems, so it’s worth checking in with your GP to see if you could benefit from daily supplements. And, along with vitamin D, I also take vitamin C and zinc throughout autumn/winter to keep my immune system strong.

Pucker Up

I dont know about others but my lips in the winter intend to get so dry! I always switch up my lip products, i like to use Vaseline the pink because it keeps my lips soft and reduces the creases and also makes it look like you're wearing lipgloss. The Organic Pharmacy is another brand i recently tried because they use all organic and natural products. The lipbalm is made from shea butter and Acai to keep the lips soft. However it is a bit too watery and you have to keep reapplying.

March Wish List

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1. ZaraMidi Pleated Skirt II 2. ASOSFarleigh Slim Mom Jeans II 3. ASOSWhite Silk Sweat Top II 4. ASOSWhite Faux Fur Bomber II 5. MACGlobal Glow Highlighter  II 6. TopshopPinstripe Slip Dress II 7. NARSMorocco Semi Matte Lipstick
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hopefully we get some sun in March. I think March becomes the month where you can combine winter & summer clothes. Hence my choice for the clothes above.

I love the powder-pink this year, the Zara skirt would be absolutely perfect to wear with a sweatshirt and trainers, boots and jumper or with a cami and heels. Its an all-rounder.

Everybody needs a good pair of mum jeans, i love these jeans from ASOS, you can buy them in different waist and length sizes and also i think they cut off just right to show your ankles. They would look great with any shoe.

The pinstripe dress is a great dress for Spring, i would wear it on its own but if it is too cold i would style it with a turtle neck and tights. This dress would also look great with the faux fur bomber, some boots or white trainers.

Lastly on the list are two makeup products, i have been loving bronzy shade items. The NARS morocco shade is such a lovely orange/brick/brown colour (best way to describe it) it looks great on every skintone and to complement the bronze look you have to apply MAC highlighter in Global Glow - literally does what it says!

Kim Kardashian Shares Her Secret! How To Get The Perfect Cleavage

Kim Kardashian's chest always looks perfect when she hits the red carpet in plunging tops.

And on Tuesday the 35-year-old beauty revealed how she manages to make the most of her decolletage as she shared two very private photos from several years ago on kimkardashianwest.com.

In it, the Keeping Up With The Kardashians reality star shows off her chest that has nothing but straps of tape on her.

Kardashian kept the tips coming and added, "Make sure you don't have any lotion or oils on when you're lifting your boobs up with the tape." And of course removing the sticky strips isn't easy. The 35-year-old went on to say, "Just brace yourself for when it's time to take it off LOL." Ouch! So that's how she wears those low plunging looks with ease. Now we just need her to share her secret for flawlessly strutting in heels 24/7.

Fringe & Snake

I recently went into Zara as they were having their seasonal sales, it is always a great time to shop there. I purchased these snake pattern slippers, last one left in my size! it was just meant to be, and i couldn't resist. I have been wearing them with everything and anything! They are so versatile and compliment your outfit so well.

I also purchased the fringe bag in suede, it is a navy colour. I loved this instantly as i do not have this colour bag or material, also suede and fringe as very trendy right now as the 70's are back! i have been getting so many compliments on this bag, it can be worn on a night out or dinner with the girls. You do have to look after the bag as it is suede and the material can be tricky to wear.

Sleek Matte Me Birthday Suit Lipgloss Review

Ive really started to like Sleek products recently, and i purchased the Sleek Matte me 'Birthday Suit' lipgloss. I really like the colour its a nice nude with a hint of mauve in it. The colour looks great its very close to Mac's Velvet Teddy and Revlon Mauve It Over, the packaging is great. However, i the product dries out your lips! like sand dry! that is the only downfall i would say about the product. I would advice if you're not a professional make up artist to apply a little and build it up because it can be quite hard to apply liquid lipglosses. Other than that, the colour is beautiful! It is only £4.99 which is a bargain! You can purchase Sleek products at Boots or Superdrugs in the UK. Or online http://www.sleekmakeup.com/matte-me-birthday-suit

Mac Chili Lipstick Review

I recently purchased Chili from Mac, me and my girl friend went to the Mac in Manchester and she purchased it there and i loved the colour but i thought it wouldn't suit me as i am olive skin and she is quite fair/olive so everything suits her. But she said if i wear the colour with the right make up and clothes it would, and she was right.

I purchased Chili and i have had so many compliments on the colour and questions about it. Its not exactly red, it has an orange flame to it, i describe it as a burnt orange. It a very subtle brownish/red/orange, some people dont like to wear red as they feel its too much, this colour is just perfect. Its a matte texture but does not dry your lips at all, its long lasting - it lasted me around 8 hours, it goes on very smoothly like all Mac lipsticks. i love mixing this lipstick with Jane from Nars i think the two colours look great together. However, in the pictures below im wearing Chili on its own. The lipstick cost me £15.50 You can order the product here: http://www.maccosmetics.co.uk/product/shaded/168/310/Lipstick/index.tmpl

Charlotte Tilbury Goddess Clay Mask, Magic Cream & The Retoucher Concealer

I am falling in love with Charlotte Tilbury products, they have been so kind to my skin and just make me feel and look so good.

So the mask is supposed to give you luminous glowing skin, it claims to tighten, brighten, smooth and lift your pores and leave you with ''baby skin''. Charlotte uses this mask for all her celebrities and asks them to apply the mask every night three days before the big day. You're supposed to leave the product on for 10-20 minutes. Rinse with warm water and splash your face with cold water to tighten the pores. It is made with Spanish clay, as Charlotte was born in Ibiza she grew up using this clay, it also contains Rosehip oil to nourish the skin and BioNymph Peptide Complex which boots collagen in the skin to leave it looking fresh and plump.

I had seen YouTube videos on the Charlotte Tilbury channel and the product did look amazing. But i had to try it out for myself, i went into Selfridges and one of the beauty assistants at CT put the Mask on the back of my hand for literally 10-15 seconds and wiped it off. I literally saw the difference, my right hand was much brighter than my left. (no exaggeration). So i purchased it for £45... is it worth it?

Yes! Its most definitely worth the money, as it gives you the results within 10 minutes which you would get from a 45 minute facial. It doesn't leave you with baby skin of course, but after using it my skin was definitely brighter, my pores were A LOT smaller and tighter so my face was not as oily. And it did leave my skin feeling smooth. I'm not the biggest fan of the smell, it smells like jasmine, but that's the only complaint i have.

I was looking for a concealer to even out my skin out as i have some discolouration. The beauty assistant at CT suggested the 4 shade for me. This colour of this matches my skin like they literally sat me down and made the product just for me. It is exactly my skin colour, which is great to use over any blemishes, marks, dark circles etc and it blends into your face beautifully it doesnt crease or sit in your pores. For £25 i think the product is great, it doesn't look cakey, its very light.

I think i might purchase another one two shades lighter to use as a highlighter. Sorry bank account! :(

So i got samples for the Magic Cream, (always get samples, samples are great), because i am not going to spend £70 on a cream unless its made from gold. The cream is supposed to rejuvenate the skin, plump the skin, hydrate, reduce wrinkles and smooth the skin. So i applied the cream after cleansing my face, it did leave a glow to my skin but made my skin feel really oily. I have very oily skin and it did not help putting this on, i was constantly powdering my face. However, if you have dry skin this is a great product for you.

I don't think i need to purchase this if i have the mask, its not the best for oily skin. I will be purchasing the CT wonder glow primer and the supermodel body next. So watch out for that one.

Oily Skin Prone

I suffer from very oily skin, especially around the T-zone area which includes my nose, upper lip, chin. My eyelids also intend to produce oil for some reason. So here are some products i use to help prevent and tone down the oil.

1) Chanel Perfection Lumiere - I use the shade 50 Beige, this foundation is really god for my skin it absorbs the oil, not completely but it does a good job. Its great coverage, doesn't dry my skin  still gives it moisture and a dewy glowy look. Also it has a really nice scent, like all chanel products have, i was a bit hesitant about that because of the chemicals but i haven't had any problems with it

2) This Les Beiges powder is great on my skin i use the shade 30 . I wear it with my foundation and without it gives my skin a really nice glow and soaks up all the oil on my skin. However, i do have to reapply at least twice, but I'm not complaining.

3) Ok, this is god sent for oily skin! I originally brought this product to even out my skin tone and tighten my pores, you're suppose to use this before you sleep. However, i started using it on a daily basis and noticed my skin was not getting oily AT ALL! The gel like substance tightened my pores, so there was no oil oozing out, which also prevents break outs. I highly recommend this to anyone with oily skin it lasts literally hours! and you only have to use a small out.

4) I got the makeup setting spray as a free sample when i purchased my naked palette 2. This is really great when you want your make up to last all day or feel like your makeup slips off because of the oily skin. My makeup does not budge at all when i wear this, theres no creases or transfer of eyeliner/eyepencil. I spray this a few inches away from my face in a X motion.

5) Vichy Dermablend is a great brand. I brought this translucent powder because its great for oily skin as it has no colour and its loose so it picks up oil better than a compact powder. Also its great for buffing into your skin to make it look like its photoshopped. I always set my make up with this.

6) Light moisturisers are obviously a good idea if you have oily skin because you still need to hydrate your skin. This product does the job without making your skin greasy and heavy.

7) If you have oily eyelids and your eyeliner smudges and your eyeshadow creases this is the product you need. It completely mattifies the area, its looks like a beige-ey colour on my hand but it completely disappears into your skin. Also the eyeshadows look more pigmented. I use the original shade.

Mini Urban Decay Haul

So i recently purchased Urban Decay Naked Palette (FINALLY) i've been wanting to get one for ages but was not sure of which one to get. So i was in House of Fraser last week and the lady there was helping me decide and said Naked Palette 2 colours are suited to olive skin tones (which is my skin tone) but i was really confused between 1 and 2. Because Naked Palette 1 is more of a smokey eye, which is what i normally wear, because i don't really wear eyeshadow everyday, only on special occasions.

Anyway, i didnt end up buying at the House of Fraser i done more research, looked at more YouTube videos and tutorials etc. And finally brought the Naked Palette 2! Because i found that it is an all rounder... it has colours from naked 1 and 3 i.e. the browns, the mattes, the pink tones and the neutral colours.

So i thought id order it online, and they had an offer online i dont know if it applies in stores too...? But if you purchase products over £50 you will get 3 delux samples. So i brought the Naked Palette 2 and the Eye Shadow Primer in Original. The 3 samples i got were the All Nighter Make-up Setting Spray, Revolution Lipstick in Gilted and 24/7 Glide-on eye Pencil in LSD.  The only thing i dont like is that you cant choose the what shades you want of the samples. With the Palette i also got samples of eyeshadow primers. Oh! and you also get a two sided brush with the palette to apply and blend. For two products it cost me £54.00

Naked Palette 2: £38.00
Eyeshadow Primer Potion: £16.00
3 Samples: FREE!
