And its back! Long awaited Academy Awards 2015! I personally have no interest in who won - I more, care for (rhymed) who's wearing what.
This year i was a little disappointed , I felt a lot of the women didn't wear 'gowns' this year. My idea of a gown is a statement dress. This is the only night they get to dress up in big amazing statement pieces. Yet i felt many played it very safe at the Oscars this year.
Scarlett Johansson in Versace
When i first saw this dress it reminded me of Miley Cyrus's Marc Jacobs dress she wore last year. Donatella Versace sent her various sketches and Scarlett instantly fell in love with this green one. The necklace i thought she added herself, however, the neckless actually comes with the dress, made of 2000 swarovski crystals and took 100 hours to make. I like the look except for the necklace i feel it looks like seaweed choking her. It gets a Meh!
Lady Gaga In Custom Made Alaia
This is actually the first time Alaia has ever done a custom made for anyone! It took 25 people to make this dress. I mean at first i thought this is ridiculous but that's my first thought with every gaga dress, but the more i look at it the more i love it. I love the gloves tied into the red lip and the hand painted orchids. She took a fashion risk, the gloves are not for everyone but they are for Lady Gaga. Overall she looks great - it's a memorable look for sure. It gets a Yay! Check out some funny Meme here
Lupita N'yongo In Calvin Klein
I think we need more pearls! There are 6000 pearls on that dress (bless the man who took time to count). I think the dress was probably gorgeous in real life, however, it falls flat in pictures because of the colour and the background. Her team should have checked the backdrop of the Oscars like Giuliana Rancic did, she was suppose to wear a white dress but quickly changed to red because the background was pale white. Also i think they went too thick around the neck which makes her look thicker. It gets a Nay!
Jennifer Lopez in Elie Saab Haute Couture
I love this woman! Even though Luciana Pedraza wore the same dress in different colour, no-one took her limelight. Whatever she does she brings 5000% you can always count on her to bring glamour she dresses like a star. I loved the dress! She look amazing! i liked that she had a hair up kept it simple! And the jewellery was minimal (worth £2million). She's a freak of nature - its not fair. She gets a massive Yay!
Dakota Johnson in Saint Laurent
She looks great, her jewellery is from ForeverMark Diamonds worth £2million! I really wish she wore a really nice gown im waiting to see her in one. However, i think this is the right amount of statement for her at this point of her career. I like the detail on the shoulder, she wore the bracelet on the opposite side to balance it out. The ponytail is very in trend right now. Its simple yet sexy much like her character. However, i feel she should have worn this dress maybe to the after party? Its a Meh!
Emma Stone In Elie Saab
I am obsessed with Emma Stone! She defines the odds of fashion and makes it look so good! It is such a hard colour to pull off but i think her hair complements it perfectly. I love the seventies trend she is doing which is so in right now at Fashion Week. I love the matching shoe the subtle make-up! Love H2T Big Yay!
Zendaya In Vivienne Westwood
Ok, not to be mean but the first thing i thought was what is she doing at the Oscars? I feel she always pushes herself in fashion and she wore such a simple dress that we have seen on the red carpet so many times. Not to mention the dress ages her completely... its just not working. Nay!
Rosamund Pike in Givenchy Couture
She literally saved the best for last! So happy she wore red shoe with minimal coverage and nude lip rather than red lip, and no statement necklace! Thank god! And can i just mention she had a baby 10 weeks ago! Her body looks FAB! she looks amazing! Yay from me.
